General Assistant - Manufacturing Industry
Location: Northampton
Salary: £30,321pa / £13.72phr
Hours: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm (Weekly Rotating, Monday to Friday)
Impact Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton who are seeking a General Assistant to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the print and packaging industry, with full training and career progression available.
The Role:
As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Machine Operators with day-to-day production activities. You will be trained to handle materials, assist with machine preparation, and gradually develop your skills towards becoming a fully trained Machine Operator.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting Machine Operators with the set-up and operation of print and packaging machinery
Loading and unloading materials onto production lines
Supporting with ink changes and machine cleaning between production runs
Monitoring product quality and reporting any defects or issues
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Undertaking general production and warehouse duties as required
About You:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial but not essential
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
